BUILT AROUND REAL DINER DECISIONS

What a Restaurant Website Needs to Turn Searches Into Guests

A restaurant website should do more than display attractive food photography. It should help guests quickly understand what you serve, whether the experience fits their needs, and how to take the next step.

PandaGC organizes each restaurant website around the information diners use to choose, reserve, order, and visit.

A Menu Guests Can Actually Use

01

Menus should be easy to read on a phone, organized by category, and clear about prices, ingredients, and dietary options. Whenever possible, important menu content should appear as website text instead of relying only on a downloadable PDF.

Clear Reservations and Ordering Paths

02

Guests should not have to search for the next step. Reservation, pickup, delivery, catering, and phone-order options should be clearly separated and connected to the correct booking or ordering system.

Accurate Hours, Location, and Visit Details

03

Opening hours, address, phone number, parking information, service hours, and holiday updates should be easy to find and consistent with the restaurant’s Google Business Profile.

Food and Atmosphere That Set Expectations

04

Photography should communicate both the food and the dining experience. Guests want to understand the atmosphere, seating style, signature dishes, and whether the restaurant is right for a casual meal, celebration, date night, or group gathering.

Private Dining, Catering, and Group Options

05

Restaurants offering private dining, catering, events, gift cards, seasonal menus, or group reservations need dedicated paths for those services. These opportunities should not be buried inside a general contact page.

Dietary, Accessibility, and Visit-Planning Details

06

Guests may need to know about vegetarian or vegan options, allergen communication, wheelchair access, child seating, outdoor dining, pet policies, and group-size limits before they visit. Publish only information the restaurant can keep accurate, and direct allergy-related questions to staff rather than guaranteeing an allergen-free environment.

Building and Managing Your Restaurant Website

Can the website connect with the restaurant tools we already use?

In many cases, yes. PandaGC can plan the website around existing reservation, online ordering, delivery, email marketing, loyalty, gift card, or POS-related platforms when those services provide a compatible link, widget, or integration. We review the tools first so guests are not forced through a confusing or duplicated process.

How should a restaurant website handle multiple locations?

Each location should have a dedicated page with its own address, hours, contact details, menu availability, reservation or ordering link, amenities, and location-specific content. This structure helps guests reach the correct restaurant and gives search engines clearer information than placing every location on one general page.

How can staff update menus, seasonal offers, and holiday information?

Frequently changing content can be placed in clearly editable sections or structured content collections, depending on how often it changes and who will maintain it. PandaGC should define which items the restaurant team can update, which design elements should remain controlled, and how expired offers are removed so outdated menus, prices, or holiday hours do not remain visible.

How can we tell whether the restaurant website is generating business?

The website can be configured to measure useful actions such as reservation-link clicks, online-order clicks, phone calls, direction requests, catering inquiries, and contact-form submissions. These events provide more meaningful performance information than page views alone and help identify where guests abandon the journey.

What information and access does PandaGC need before building the website?

PandaGC typically needs the restaurant name, current menu and prices, hours, address, contact details, dining and service options, brand assets, approved photography, reservation and online-ordering links, and any important booking, cancellation, catering, gift-card, or accessibility information. For multiple locations, we also need the details that differ by location. Where applicable, the restaurant can provide collaborator access to its Wix account, domain, analytics, reservation, ordering, or other connected platforms while retaining ownership of those accounts. All information should be reviewed and approved by the restaurant before publication.

Will we own the restaurant website, domain, and connected business accounts?

Yes. Your restaurant will own or control its website, domain, and connected business accounts. Reservation, ordering, payment, and other third-party accounts should normally remain under your restaurant’s ownership and management. PandaGC can work as an authorized manager, provide training, and help connect these services. If you prefer ongoing hands-on management, additional support may be available through an appropriate Site Care plan. Third-party services remain subject to their own terms and limitations.
