Calcium + D
Primary Use / Function: Supports bone health, helps prevent osteoporosis, and aids in muscle and nerve function

Daily Dose Range: Calcium: 1000–1200 mg
Vitamin D3: 600–2000 IU (15–50 mcg), depending on age and deficiency status
Frequency: Once or twice daily (divided doses improve absorption if >500 mg calcium)
With Food? Calcium carbonate: Yes, requires stomach acid for absorption
Calcium citrate: Can be taken with or without food
Enhancing Combinations:Magnesium, Vitamin K2 (for calcium distribution), Collagen
Gender Specific:No, but especially important for postmenopausal women and elderly
Contraindications / Cautions: Excess calcium may increase risk of kidney stones
Monitor in individuals with kidney disease or calcium metabolism disorders
High doses of Vitamin D may cause toxicity
Notes: Calcium and iron should not be taken together
D3 enhances calcium absorption and bioavailability
Best to get calcium from diet; supplements only when necessary
