Iron
Primary Use / Function: Supports red blood cell production, prevents/treats iron-deficiency anemia, enhances oxygen transport

Daily Dose Range: 18–27 mg for adult women; 8–10 mg for adult men; therapeutic doses can be 50–100 mg/day under medical supervision
Frequency: Once daily, or as prescribed
With Food? Best taken on an empty stomach for absorption, but may cause stomach upset — take with food if needed
Enhancing Combinations:Vitamin C (boosts absorption), B12 and Folate (for red blood cell synergy)
Gender Specific:Yes — higher need for menstruating women, pregnant women, and those with anemia
Contraindications / Cautions: Avoid excess iron — can cause constipation, nausea, and organ damage; not recommended for people with hemochromatosis or iron overload conditions
Notes: Calcium, coffee, tea, and some medications (e.g., antacids) can inhibit absorption — separate by at least 2 hours
